On Saturday afternoon, WKU Football got word that one of it’s biggest (literally) recruits had pledged his commitment to the Hilltopper program as Lithonia (GA) Defensive Lineman David Ndukwe pledged to join the 2020 WKU recruiting class.

Ndukwe is a 6'6 240 defensive lineman for Arabia Mountain High School in Lithonia, Georgia who played both ways in 2018. The Rams went 6–5 in 2018 as Ndukwe played sparingly on defense according to MaxPreps totaling just 2 tackles with one of them being for loss.

Here is his junior season highlight tape

As you can tell Ndukwe seemed to play more on the offensive line than defense but there was fairly enough tape to show some discrepancy from the MaxPreps numbers. What you can’t teach with Ndukwe is size. 6'6 players don’t grow on trees and the athleticism shown in this tape shows that Ndukwe could be a force if he grows into his frame. According to his twitter profile, he plans to graduate early and enroll at WKU in time for spring football in 2020.

He isn’t yet rated yet by Rivals or 247 Sports but did hold offers from FIU, Akron, South Alabama, and several FCS programs. Ndukwe is the 5th commitment from the talented Peach State as WKU football continues to show how important a priority that Georgia continues to be moving forward.

Ndukwe is the 14th commitment in the 2020 class for the Hilltoppers which ranks as the fourth most in Conference USA. Tyson Helton has done quite well identifying underrated talent and locking them in shortly after their official visits.

Here is where WKU’s 2020 recruiting class sits after Ndukwe’s commitment
