99. Just keep swimming

A carefree, throw-away line from Nemo becomes the mantra for humanity.

13 years after the launch of Finding Nemo, Finding Dory is released. I still haven’t seen it, but it got me — along with much of Generation Y (millennials) — reminiscing about the main “cast” in the former movie.

Dory has trouble remembering where home is. Despite this, she is happy, hopeful and helpful as Nemo’s sidekick in finding his father again.

“Just keep swimming,” Dory says.

Just keep at it. Just keep surviving. Just keep going. No matter how you say it, it’s a simple, yet powerful, three-word mantra that humanity has lived by for millennia to get to where we are today.

When times seem tough, you just have to keep swimming. If a fish can do it, you can too.
