On Tuesday afternoon, WKU Football got its first commitment since August as Tucker (GA) Linebacker Aaron Key pledged his commitment to the 2020 recruiting class

Key is a 6'3 200 Lb Outside linebacker/Defensive End for Tucker High School in Georgia. The Tigers are currently 5–3 on the season. Tucker is located in the Atlanta area and has highly competitive football. The school has produced 9 NFL players in its history and currently has three players still active. Through his first seven games, Key had 20 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 interception & 1 Forced Fumble.

Here is his midseason highlight tape.

From the highlight tape, you can see a rangy athlete that can play with his hand down or standing up. He has the closing speed and instincts that help him make plays across the field and could become a quick factor in college if he can continue to add weight.

Key is a 3-star player according to 247 & Rivals. He holds offers from Rutgers, Cincinnati, Marshall, MTSU & Others. Georgia continues to be a honey hole for WKU’s staff as assistants Maurice Crum and Jimmy Lindsey continue to put in work down in the Peach State. Key is the 6th commitment from the talented region. It’s good to see WKU’s staff now zero in on their final targets before early signing day in mid-December. I’d expect them to add a few more players including some Junior college transfers before the day comes.

Key is the 15th commitment in the 2020 class for the Hilltoppers which ranks as the third most in Conference USA. Tyson Helton has done quite well identifying the players he wants and locking them in quickly.

Here is where WKU’s 2020 recruiting class sits after Key’s commitment
