Snowfall Forecast Maps for the Thanksgiving Week Snowstorm
Snow is on the way in New England and maybe some of it will stick around for Thanksgiving, depending on your location.
Between 3 and 6 inches of snow is expected where I live in central New Hampshire, and a winter weather advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. tonight till 3 p.m. tomorrow.

“A complex winter weather event is expected tomorrow,” the National Weather Service office that covers New Hampshire and western Maine posted. “Mainly snow is expected in the interior, with more rain along the coast. Some portions of western and northern NH/ME could see some ice as well. Please drive carefully, Thanksgiving travel may be very dangerous.”

Meanwhile, the Northeast is getting warmer and wetter, and the ocean is getting warmer, the Northeast Regional Climate Center notes. Check out the climate change impacts in the Northeast that are detailed in the recently released Fifth National Climate Assessment and summarized by the center.
“The Northeast continues to be confronted with extreme weather, most notably extreme precipitation — which has caused problematic flooding across the region — and heatwaves (very likely, high confidence),” the national assessment says. “In response, climate adaptation and mitigation efforts, including nature-based solutions, have increased across the region (high confidence), with a focus on emissions reductions, carbon sequestration, and resilience building (medium confidence).”

However, precipitation has been below normal — far below in some areas, such as almost all of New Hampshire and western Maine — over the last two months in most of the Northeast, according to the Northeast River Forecast Center.
