Do you have a devotional time each morning? Koinonia can help you start your day off just right. Check out our homepage every day for a bite-size daily devotion and stories about God’s love for us.

Our writers tackled all sorts of topics in July. What does a toothbrush have to do with time management, I’ve so often wondered. And then there’s a question of long toes — show us yours? Our writers also pondered “Truth” in a variety of ways. You should check those out!

SPECIAL FEATURES

One of our writers, Elizabeth Erlandson is an inspirational cook. She shares affordable recipes in our publication. Check out her “list” of favorites.

Josh Cervone, LCSW dove into a study of the Apostles’ Creed.

Paul Walker offered a terrific series on the power of Spiritual Journalling.

On Saturdays this summer, our writers are sharing their social media contacts, links to books they’ve written, and writings they wish to promote. It’s been fun so far to learn more about these writers. Our publication is ALL about promoting our writers and this is yet another way to let them network with our writers. Check out these interesting resources:

Books by Marcia Laycock: https://marcialeelaycock.com/my-books/
Mary Gallagher has her own Medium Publication called Pick More Daisies
Kimberley Payne offers a free email program called JumpStart
Katharine Trauger has a blog for homeschoolers
Paul Phillips’ website is called He’s Taken Leave

We restarted our Writer Interviews this year. Here are the latest brave writers to complete our questions.

Meet Hadassah Treu

Meet Deb Curreen

Our July Scripture Prompt was Joshua 1:9

Here’s a glimpse at how this verse spoke to our writers. It’s a popular verse for tattoos, artwork, and memes.

Writers are having a GREAT time in our private Facebook group sharing their work and interacting with other Christian writers. If you’re a writer for Koinonia on Medium and not yet a member of our private Facebook group called Koinonia Medium Publication Writers, you’re missing out! Meet other writers and gain followers, fans, and friends.

If writers want their writing featured in the monthly Newsletter, they should participate in this private group or write a post focused on the monthly Scripture Prompt (find the Scripture Prompt post above, or on the Koinonia home page).

We have a core group of regular participants, as you can see in this newsletter. The more the merrier and a rising tide lifts all boats! Come on, writers, and join us.

Writing/Medium Tips (offered in our private Facebook group)

From Kimberley Payne, Show Don’t Tell: A cheat sheet to strengthen your writing and What to Include in a Writer’s Marketing Plan

From Julie Ranson: Graphics Help Tell Your Story

From Katharine Trauger: Once your story is posted, listen to it once. If you have forgotten to space after the last period in a paragraph, whether through distraction or editing, the voice reading of your story will sound like this: “I’ve made this suggestion before dot one final edit can…” You can prevent that by going into the edit feature and adding a space after that period.

Lots of discussion one week about titles. Recommendations included using Coschedule’s FREE Headline Analyzer. You don’t need an editor’s permission to change your title after it’s been accepted and published. Just be aware that the link text won’t change to reflect the new one.

See what you’re missing? Enjoy these conversations and learning opportunities as a member of our private Facebook group, Koinonia Medium Publication Writers. Again, this is for Koinonia writers only.

MORNING DEVOTIONS: We welcome Morning Devotions as single submissions and short series (2–3 posts). We are currently scheduling submissions about 1–2 days out, so you must wait briefly to see your post(s) appear. Please keep submitting! Submission Guidelines for Morning Devotions
