I can’t recall the number of times someone would tell me, “I’m too old for this.”

“There’s got to be a better way,” I thought to myself as I carried the fifth bucket of water to the raging fire out in the parched yucca fields. The Shipibo locals were hurried but surprisingly relaxed about the situation, accustomed…

Forty-Five and An Ignored Pillar!
Birthday. I completed forty-five yesterday. It is time for reflection. I don’t know why. Amidst the surrounding frenzy on this day, I long for the silence, and in those silence, the only question that comes to my mind is ‘Did my existence matter’? Perhaps, A case of reading too much of…
Whats important for an author? Typing speed or thinking speed?
Hi there, I have finally found a right time to write again!
So, last week was my birthday. I’m turning twenty four already! And..as a gift for myself, I want to share (what I hope will be inspiring) some notes about self development. Well…”self…
What does it mean to “have it all?” Do I currently? In a previous job, I was asked to be part of a panel my company’s Having It All Series brown bag lunch series at AdRoll. The topic du mois was Balance: Work and Outside Interests (Music, Writing, Exercising, Language…

Tony, I’ve plunged deep into the neurological issues around sleep for the last decade. Great to see your focus on this.
As the working world pushes longer and harder work cycles, caffeine becomes the Fuel of Choice. But it’s a Futile Fuel, as the damage to adrenals is a menace, over time. And the compromise to sleep and…
Change is not a new wardrobe.
Wow! You accomplished so much in the time spent! It’s funny how we are usually our own toughest critics and that others can see the growth in us long before we see it in ourselves. You’ve come a long way.
It encourages me, given that I’m only half way through the 100 days journey, to step it up and keep it pushing. You set…
You get out of life what you are willing to tolerate. If you make the choice not to tolerate whatever it is that’s been bothering you, your life will begin to change.
Once you do that, you’ll take charge of your own life, which means you’ll take responsibility and begin acting in a way that will push you toward that goal.
The rational atheist, social enforcer and organic Gnostic all have very different views about sexuality and sex. Only the survivalist doesn’t really have a view and is just driven by organic needs and instinctive impulses which they don’t understand and are hardly aware of.
Arguably one of the most important skills we as collaborative creatives possess. We’re expected to be good at it, but we’re never actually taught. We’re often defensive if someone tells us we’re not good at it, but in reality, everyone can improve.
Today, I will share my daily affirmations. I read these aloud every morning. It took a while to get used…

Hi, I’ve been thinking about this, and the investment analogy.. not as analogy, but as a venue for treating each with basic human dignity

It seems like when we reach a certain age in our lives, people around us start to ask the same kinds of questions: “What are we actually after? Ultimately, what do we want?” It isn’t the case that we’ve not thought of these questions before, but chances are, our…
Very smart to focus this down on 15 mins. We also need to reflect on the triggers that prevent us from working on ourselves. We all know that we should. But until we identify the roadblocks, the internal ones, the thoughts and feelings that stop us, we don’t do what we should.

I pick a nugget out of my day that I can expand upon as a genuine writing experience. It might come from a picture I take on a walk. It could come from something I’ve read. Sometimes it comes from what a child has said to me during the day at my elementary school counseling job. Those are usually priceless!

Before I start, let me ask one simple question:
Apologies in advance for this one. It is extremely self-indulgent but still worth the practise. Here we go…
I was struggling to keep the tone & the title of this post humorous and funny. Yet I guess humor is eluding me. This post has taken a more serious note and approach and that’s fine, I guess.
The amounts of decision we take everyday is incredibly high. There is a good chance that one of those decision wasn’t the best one. The consequence of that decision had a negative impact on your business. What to do?
I waited on a four top last night that reminded me of the corner bar. Open for 22 years, it has the charm of a couple-owned libation concept with sincerity that bled through. I’ve been a few times and I pass it on my way home from work. I always remember its location after I’ve turned onto…

I am trying to reignite the light
Thank you so much for writing this. It was a heart-warming piece.
“Yes, I’ll do that.” “Yes I can do that.” “Do not worry I can handle it.” A few phrases a lot of us are way too familiar with. It is my third year of college and that word is probably the word that is both a blessing and a curse. Many times we feel obligated to say ‘yes’ to something…
Self discipline is what we ought to learn how to exercise. Most are so quick to accept their failures & dismiss the idea of becoming a better version of themselves as we believe we aren’t equipped with the skills to do so and progress as an individual. Time and time again we continuously back slide and because it’s happened so many times we give up…

I like the MHT concept as it helps people think about spending money and determining how much to spend. So many people have spending on autopilot and do not stop to think about how much they spend. I think your theory is supported by data that suggest a salary threshold for happiness. http://www.businessinsider.com/nobel-prize-winners-figured-out-the-perfect-salary-for-happiness-2015-10
This piece reminded me of what I do for classroom lessons as an elementary school counselor. We always start our time together with three deep breaths, and I remind students as they are doing so that we are moving away from what they were just doing to our time together for our lesson now. Transitions. It’s something we can do with the littles just as we can do it with ourselves. Thanks, Bianca!

Dear Self,
A couple of restless nights.
The liberal humanist believes in humanity and believes that we are all part of humanity. This is true, we are all humans, part of the human race and nothing we can do or say can remove us from the human race. We can be good humans, bad humans or even shining lights that show humanity a new path. But…
Yes, 1000% Yes! This should go viral, because I cannot imagine anyone who would not benefit from reading this piece and being reminded of the importance of embracing inspiration, adventure, travel, and life.
