“Major” Snowstorm, a Nor’easter, Imminent in New England
Heavy snow, maybe up to around 24 inches, and sleet in New Hampshire and western Maine.
Significant rainfall and more river flooding plus a high wind warning, with gusts to 60 mph expected, in southern New England and parts of Vermont.
An avalanche watch in New Hampshire’s Presidential Range, and a coastal flood warning and coastal flood watch, depending on the location in New England.
These are some of the weather warnings and watches linked to a “major, long duration spring snowstorm” — a nor’easter — that kicks in today and lingers into Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

The big spring snowstorm follows a very wet first three months of this year in much of the Northeast, and this cold season has featured below-normal snowfall in nearly all of the region.
