Milestones
Reflections, Ripples and Ramblings of a Restless Mind
This week was a week that will stick in my mind for some time to come.
A week where the hard work feels like it paid off — or at least is starting to.
A week of milestones.
A week to shout about. In a whisper.
First came the request to publish one of the first articles I wrote on Medium in an international magazine that I know sits in Qantas flights and on coffee tables in hotels across Papua New Guinea.
Then came (in relatively quick succession) top writer status in Poetry, then Writing on Medium.
I’m not going to question how solid the algorithm is, or what being a ‘top writer’ really means, (I’m not sure I want to open up that can!)
I’m just going to enjoy the feeling!
Then, today (and a couple of fumbled applications later) I received my Fellowship to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Again. Will being a Fellow and not just an Associate make a huge difference? I don’t know. Yet.
But for now I’m just going to bask, turns out some of those self-help listicles were right, don’t chase happiness, just do what you love doing. Happines will come. It did — for now!
And say thank you. I feel blessed.
