154. Life will wear you down — here’s how to stay strong
In Victoria, Australia, there are some lovely rock formations about three hour’s drive from the Central Business District called the 12 Apostles. This name was given to them in the 1920’s.
In 2016, there are apparently only eight left. It’s very windy there, not to mention the cold waters battering the formations non-stop. Any resolute limestone formation would crumble into the ocean eventually.
We’re like the 12 Apostles. We’re battered to and fro by societal forces. Unlike the 12 Apostles though, we have the ability to withdraw and recover from what the world throws at us.
We have outer layers that we can protect. We do this by engaging with the people and activities that feed our soul. Our soul knows why we’re on this earth and why we’re doing what we’re doing.
As long as we nurture this part, it will regenerate our determination to succeed in the long run.
