I was having a discussion with my sister today (rare occurrence given my ongoing weirdly contradictory inability to pick up the phone and make a call), the specifics aren’t relevant, but the theme that came out was around priorities.

Everyone’s are different, and everyone has their own take on what is important right now.

And at different levels of your life they will vary and potentially knock heads.

For instance, my priority to explore my professional options and take some risk is in conflict with my priority to provide for my wonderful family.

My priority to be a more active person is less of a priority than getting enough kip at night. The result, I don’t (won’t) get up anywhere near early enough to make sure I get my run on.

But of course priorities are mutable. What’s important today, may seem less so in a couple of months or in a year.

All I know right now, is that if I don’t make myself the priority, none of the others will flow.

So (and in the most unselfish way possible) it’s going to be all about me for the next little while.
