Greetings PW Writers and Readers. The pub is open and decorated in holiday cheer! The liquor and beer bar and the coffee and tea bar are both open. The center table is filled with holiday snacks and goodies. Grab yourselves a drink and a snack, and get yourselves settled in.

I want to thank all of you for your contributions, read time, and responses during this third week of December. Remember, clapping and commenting on one another’s work is what makes PW a community. Let’s continue to encourage one another by visiting each others’ stories and supporting one another. I would hate to lose writers because they don’t feel like their work is being appreciated here on PW. Your interactions here continue to make PW a success!

A special thank you to my editors, Alyse Rowe and Katrina D. for their help this past week. I appreciate you both for taking the time to help out!

🎆🎇SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT🎆🎇

Promptly Written is taking December 31st-January 1st off.

What will this mean for you as a writer here at PW? Just publishing turn-around time. The prompts will come out as usual. The pub will be open to receive your work. However, there will be a 48–72 hr publication turn-around time. That’s all.

I want to allow everyone who celebrates New Year’s Day to not feel constrained to write during this time and to give my editors and me a much-needed break during the holidays. However, should the desire to write appear, you will still have prompts and be able to submit your work. It will just take longer for your work to be published.

🩸🩸🩸PERSONAL FYI🩸🩸🩸

I have two upcoming doctor appointments — One on December 28th and another on December 30th. Neither should interfere with publishing your work. Your work just may get published at odd hours.

💥💥ANNOUNCEMENTS💥💥

  1. I have revamped the Home Page. Hopefully, it will make it easier for you to find all the stories, prompts, and PW News. If you scroll to the end, you will find Trending Stories and Latest Stories. Otherwise, everything else has its own separate box. Please go and familiarize yourselves with it.
  2. I have also updated the Submissions Page. All of the extras that I usually put into these weekly newsletters can now be found there. Please go and check the page out and leave a comment letting me know that you have read and understood all the guidelines.
  3. If you have not taken the End-of-Year Surveys, please do so as soon as possible. The deadline for taking them is December 28th. This is your chance to express your feelings about Promptly Written, the editorial team, the prompts, and the engagement of writers and readers here at PW. The surveys are anonymous! So feel free to speak your mind!

As part of my End-of-Year Reviews, please check out these three reviews. The first two are poetry. The third is fiction. If you have time, please read, clap and comment on these stories. Thank you!
