How many metaphors are there for writers’ block I wonder.

The well running dry.

A dessert under the sky of the conscious.

Arid lands where nothing grows.

Hmm they all seem to follow the same theme.

It makes sense I guess that they would.

Unfortunately, today I needed them to be more interesting and varied. Because I have struggled to write these 100 Naked Words all day.

It is as if I had an internal word count, once I hit it through poems, emails, texts, responses and the like, my brain switched off.

But it’s not just that the words stopped flowing, ideas wilted and then shrank in the vacuum of my mind.

I guess I’ll just write it off as a bad day.
