#365DaysOfWriting – Day 201

A rather ‘slow’ day

Given the pace at which we worked over the past few weeks, today was a relatively slow day. There was still work to be done (always) but you could afford to take a little breather.

A time for introspection?

Maybe now’s a good time to just take stock of things and do a little soul-searching. Often in the grind of daily work, we forget to give time to ourselves.

But my introspections often lead to vagueness…

Haha! Sometimes, when you gaze too intently into yourself, asking questions, the answer that comes back is often unexpected. It’s almost like an exam paper you prepared for yourself, but while writing your answer you say that it’s out-of-syllabus… got it? Don’t worry if you didn’t, even I don’t get what I want to say at times.

Talking about slow, even Navjot Sidhu’s 201 against West Indies was one of the slower test double hundreds.

Cricket – sadly I can’t let go of it. Every number means something or the other to me. This particular innings lasted 11 hours, and was a test of endurance. Interestingly enough, after reaching 201, he went for a wild hoick across the line and was bowled by Ambrose. The ‘interesting’ part of this story is that Sidhu apparently had tears in his eyes after reaching the double and couldn’t see the ball out of Ambrose’s hand. Lovely story, innit?

Manchester United won a home game yesterday! Hooray!

I’m not kidding. They beat Feyenoord 4–0 at Old Trafford, a satisfying result in the Europa League after being beaten in the reverse fixture 1–0 a month or so ago. At least United’s progress to the Round of 32 is in their own hands. You wonder though why you don’t see such results too often…

That should be it for the day then. I’m winding up. Good night!
