#365DaysOfWriting — Day 215

Strange Day

A pitch was supposed to happen…

But it didn’t. All that happened was a pitch review (which went well, thankfully). And an email listing out the impending work over the next few weeks.

The Wankhede pitch was supposed to deteriorate…

But it didn’t. Ashwin’s reading of the pitch, where he said days 2 and 3 would be the best for batting, is proving true. India are 146/1 chasing England’s first innings 400. Murali Vijay has come back into form in the middle of a series (quite unlike him) and Pujara has just continued his home dominance.

One thing that DID happen today – they pitched Spider-Man Homecoming with a trailer!

And it is every bit as enjoyable as you’d expect. As a lifelong fan of Spider-Man, this trailer had me more excited than even the Spidey reveal in the Civil War trailer. Tom Holland seems to be a great fit (so far) and isn’t it just wonderful to see the evolution of Michael Keaton? From Batman to Birdman to Vulture – as one of my favourite reviewers said, what better villain for Spidey than Batman gone bad? Keaton is at his peak right now (I await ‘The Founder’ with bated breath) and I can’t wait to see what he brings to the table with Vulture.

A strange day, at the end of it all.
