Breaking News

With the advent of 24-hour news, the term ‘Breaking News’ has lost a lot of its significance. Every channel and its father is serving up the same breaking news at the same time.

I have a completely different notion of Breaking News.

Given the state of the world as it is today, I’d say it’s that piece of news that breaks the human spirit completely. Something that just shatters our perception of humanity and strips us of any dignity we might have had for our race.

I have been following one such piece of news.

Aleppo.

Hearing these stories of innocent people tweeting their ‘last words’.

People like us crying out for help.

It’s just been a devastating last 4 years in Aleppo.

It has broken my spirit. But… there is something we can still do to help. Read up.

I don’t know in what capacity I can help. But I’ll try. And hope. And pray. If God’s still listening, that is.
