#365DaysOfWriting — Day 236
To learning new things
This year has almost come to a close, but I realised that life will never stop teaching you things, no matter what time of the year it is.
I made presentations on Google Slides for the first time.
It seemed slightly intimidating at first — you’re so used to the machinations of Microsoft PowerPoint that Google Slides seems like rocket science. Guess what? It’s not. A little tinkering here and there and it’s almost exactly like PowerPoint.
I also learnt how to work on iMovie a little bit.
It’s Apple’s version of the Windows Movie Maker. Learnt the basic art of plugging in a visual and a music clip, and converting it into a video clip. Will come handy, I’m sure.
Meanwhile, Pakistan have found new styles of batting collapses.
In a test match that lost 2 days and 1 session to rain, they managed to lose it after scoring 443 in the first innings. And declaring. India inflicted the same on Australia in 2013 – but at that time the Aussies declared their first innings at a measly 237. And did go on for a full 4 days. There was no rain threat either. This particular loss was typical Pakistan – a sudden collapse after a brave first innings. But their bowling was ineffectual, sadly – considered their stronger suit. The older Pakistan teams generally closed out matches more often if they batted well. Ah well…
I wonder what tomorrow will bring. Something new that I learn, hopefully!
