Happy Vishu!
AKA the day you wake up at 4 AM to usher in the new year.
Celebrations this year were low key.
But we did have great food, as always, and the family did come together. As children, we always looked forward to this day because we’d get ‘Vishukaineetam’, which is money to buy new stuff for yourself in the new year – and to ensure prosperity in the coming years. The sad bit is, as you grow older, you don’t get as much money as you give away. Being an adult sucks, eh?
Let’s see what this new year brings us.
From the last Vishu to this one, life has been… topsy-turvy, to say the least. It’s been exciting, challenging, lot of ups and a lot of downs… but eventually, I’m still here. I look forward to the new year with renewed hope.
